Temporary Positions

Information Coordinator
£20-26,000 per annum     12-month contract

In this data management role, you will maintain and develop our client's business records, using your Information Management experience and communication skills.  It is a technical environment in which you will archive and catalogue documents, coordinate projects, provide support and advice to departments and be able to explain important information to all staff, for example in relation to security.

You will also have external contact with, for example, archiving suppliers or academic and research sources. A background in information management, preferably in an engineering or technical environment, is essential.  This is a contract position for up to 12 months.

To apply, please send your CV to Ken at ken@crossmatch.co.uk.

Occasional Library Shifts - Enhanced Disclosure or PVG required
£7.45 per hour plus holiday pay

The requirements for this are:

  1. Either (a) an Enhanced Disclosure that was issued in the last 6 months or (b) a PVG and be willing to pay for a PVG Scheme Update at a cost of £18.
  2. The ability to respond quickly to calls at short notice to cover shifts for a part of the day.  These are usually on a weekday and are 9-1, 1-5, 5-8, or a combination.  We also get some for Saturdays too occasionally.
  3. Good administration experience, preferably some experience of working in a library.
  4. A willingness to travel to different libraries in and around Edinburgh.

It is important to stress that these are only odd shifts as we don't get asked for whole weeks or several weeks.  We realise that this doesn't suit everyone.  If it is a full-time or even a steady part-time position you require, this is not for you.

Demand for this can vary.  At the moment, we are getting several shifts a week and are running short of temps who are suitably qualified, hence this advertisement.  Equally, however, it can tail off just as suddenly.

If you think this set-up may suit you, then please click here to apply to me, Annabelle, with an email explaining your interest and a CV attached.

Applying for temp work
£6.50 upwards per hour (plus holiday pay)

In the current economic climate, to be honest with you, we are not registering many new people.  We have more candidates than jobs at the moment, so our register is fairly full.

If we get a job from a client and find that we don't have enough people with a particular requirement, then we will advertise that specific job, so it is worth keeping an eye on our website for that.

Having said that, demand fluctuates and we do require a certain flow of candidates.  If you are interested in temping for us, email your CV to us at the address below or complete the "Introduce Yourself" form (which you can access from the sub-navigation bar on the left).  We will either invite you in to register with us or keep your CV on file, depending on our requirements at the time and your particular experience.

As a specialist in secretarial and office staff, we require office experience and skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.  If, in the last 6 months, you have also obtained either Basic Disclosure or Enhanced Disclosure, then that is relevant to some of our clients.

Most temp positions fall somewhere in the range £6.50 - £7.50 per hour, going higher for some more specialist or senior positions.  Holiday pay is over and above this and is equivalent to adding another £0.78 per hour on to a £6.50 per hour pay rate.

Please click here to apply to Annabelle, attaching your CV and using the email to explain your availability, what kind of work you are looking for and any other relevant information.
